Green Pants is the New Goalie look.
Looks like we had some problems with holiday cheer spilling over. Lot of subs last night. For those who didn't make it, you missed a hell of a night.
Hello to my loyal fan base, Aimee, Frank, Ralph and Derek Franco, (I know you will be reading).
In the first game, let's just say, if you need a Goalie, consider Derek Franco. In the first game when you are missing your goalie, you do what it takes to stay in the game. For much of the game, Derek Franco stayed between the pipes as the sixth skater. I thought it was awful odd that they pulled the goalie so early in the game. The Edge Doctor did manage a goal against him in the first, with the Captain himself, Adam Babikian getting it past. Early in the second, in front of his biggest fan, Shawn Smith put the it up where the peanut butter is kept. Even had a fist pump. It was a hell of a goal. Quick Dam would get another one 2 minutes later with Frank the tank Nardone playing a little Doffense. We will talk about poor Frank and his decision making later in the article. In comes our hero and birthday boy, Mike Dussault to the rescue. OOps nope that is in the next game. Edge would get one late in the second to tie it up. In the third it was Edge with one more and that would do it. 3-2 in a hell of an effort by both teams Edge wins. Was that my Boo in the box. Boo in the box new from Kenner. Get it this Christmas.
On to game two and all the fixins. Yep, it was Final Touch against some assembly required. If you like subs, no need to go to the deli, Manville Pizza has them. Final Touch started on fire with 3 goals in the first, 2 by Jarred Martin. His dad would normally be proud, but he was booing him from the other bench. Jack Babineau with the other on one skate. Lots of fun shenanigans over at the NSPD. Unfortunately, Sandy Dereksen scored a couple for the black. I mean Derek Anderson. Richie Dias got a couple as well. Guess what, they are not on the team. No kidding huh. Manville got out of a 3-1 deficit to overwhelm Final Touch 6-4. By the way Jarred Martin had a hat trick for the Swedish team. Greg Landry put a late empty netter to complete the game. Mike Dussault in his return to the ice put up a nice W for the black and he is on the team. MPP wins 6-4.
Late game, and talk about a return. Andy Morrison back on the ice after being out for a few weeks. And he came back with a vengeance, getting a Hat Trick for the Votta Properties. Nick Nardone would match the effort with his own Hat Trick. Remember how I said we need to talk about Frank Nardone's decision making? I know some people can do this, and Frank has done it before. Neil Foley did it. I quote Chris Rock "It can be done, but you shouldn't do it. You can drive with your feet, but it don't make it a good fucking idea". Yes, playing book end games is what I am referring to. Play the first game, wait it out until the third game. I hope your groin isn't too bad buddy. Ok on to the rest of the game. Spoiler, it was a tie. It went like this, Vescera out on top early with 2 by Kevin Schleicher. Early in the second Vescera had a 3 goal lead. Votta came in to the second hot hot hot. Getting 4 with Nardone(NICK) and Andy Morrison trading goals for the purple. Late in the second Gary Ouillette would tie it up again. In the third, Guess what Nick and Andy for Votta and Schleicher (getting his hat) and Frank Notorianni getting one. This would be a big gigantic tie 6-6.
Hope you all had an awesome night. Have a great week. See some of you tomorrow at the rink again. I feel like there is nothing happening for a bit. I heard Loose Screws had an awesome show last week. It couldn't have been as wild as Wicked Rhode at Stevie D's. Cause you know. Anyway, have a great week. See you all on Friday at the very least.
