In the days of my youth, I was told what it means to be a Man.
Aloha hockey fans. HI AIMEE!!! Hope y'all slept well. It is Saturday morning. A little rainy, but what can you do. Let's just be happy we have each other.
Let us get into it. Did you see that Votta Properties didn't have a goalie, for most of the game. This was Manville Palace Pizza's time to shine. In the end, it was close actually. 17 goals between the two teams. Dats a lot. In the first the Pizza took full advantage of the empty net. getting 6. Votta had a strong comeback back netting 4, 2 in each period. A couple of highlights and the true hero. Steve Lombardi for Votta with a hat trick. Peter Meegan had a Hat Trick for Pizza. Ricky Votta, the don himself, had 2 goals and 3 assists. Ryan Degnan had a goal and 4 assists. That said, there is a new Shannon in town and she was the hero. Shannon Reilly had a beauty of a backhand to seal the fate of the game. Ryan Degnan says he fed her but she put it where momma don't dust, where the peanut butter is kept, up top, a roofah! Anyway, yeah. Great job. 9-8 Pizza.
In game two, ahhh the colors of the uni's my goodness, what a great looking league. Almost the alphabet community. It took a period and a half before anyone put a puck in the old twine. It would be Steve Owens. But if you rewind the tape, just a shift before, there was an opportunity, a wide.......................open opportunity that Steve O just couldn't capitalize on. Instead the gaping hole he could have put the puck in, he put it into Mark Schaivone's goalie pads. I don't really think you can even call it a save. Steve would be determined to get on the board and he did. On to the third and Mark Kosinski popped one in on what appears to be a break away. A shift later, Kreg LaBelle would put out the candle on Quick Dam. A late goal by Shawn Smith, would not be enough. Had tried, but needed like 3 more minutes of the game. That is not how this fucking works. It ain't soccer. They don't extend the game for tom foolery. This Hockey And we Like it this way. In the end Edge Doctor, in front of their sponsor, would win the game 3-1.
Ok, WTF. the last game. I was involved in this. Whatever, Vescera won. Good for them. Andy Morrison subbing in gets 4 goals. Yeah. 3-2 after two. Robbie Edelman was the hero for Final Touch getting two beauties, I mean 2 carbon copy goals. Yours truly gave up the game winner to Andy Morrison. Let him get right by me to the goalie. Since Vescera had 6 subs last night, I don't need to really give props to them. My non heart felt apologies for my bitterness.
So, as anyone knows, Rich Dias has a gig in Bristol today. Let's hope the weather holds out for he and Loose Screws. Why don't you head on down to Bristol and have some fun. It is going to be held right where the Prudence Island Ferry launches. There is a park right next to it and Bars across the street, such as Aidans.
In any event, I love you all. Be well this week. Oh and dont forget, we do this all again tomorrow.
LIVE, BREATHE, LOVE.........................................................HOCKEY!!!!
