IT'S FRIDAY PEOPLE!!!!
A couple of teams played a bit shorthanded this week. Starting with Green Goddess where their fearless leader was missing in action. The show must go on, and so it did. Green Goddess didn't miss a beat. Ricky Vasconcelos broke the ice early with a bang bang play from Jim Galvin. Roman Law quickly tied it up, with a goal by Tim Sheehan on a beauty of a back hander from a rebound. Steven Albertelli would put his team ahead on a breakaway. The second period would be Roman Law coming out quickly and tie it up. Shawn Smith would take the team on his back on this one. The tie would not last as Adam Babikian thumbed his nose at his Paw, taking the pass from Vasconcelos. (VAS-CON-SELL-OH-Z). The next goal for the Goddess was a spin a rama by Anthony Lisi. The puck came his way, a whif and a rebound and a twist. Goal? GOAL!!! Roman Law would come back with Shane McShane Shane McCormick burying the puck in the cradle of the bosom of the twine. Roman was right back in it. They didn't count on Forecheck Foley. Neil had a picnic in slot waiting for the puck to come his way. Steven Albertelli spotted the alfresco meal Neil was having and passed it. It was a beauty of a play. The third period would belong to Marc Clarkin and Green Goddess. Adam Babikian would tack on a second goal for himself and so would Albertelli. Sean Coffey would add another for Roman, but it would not be enough. Goddess 7-4
The second game would be Manny's against Votta. The hockey shop would come out strong in the first. Tommy Gaboriault got on the horse and dragged the team with him as he jammed the puck home early from Brian Pendergast. Nick Miranda would put the next one in with the help of Derek Signoriello. Briand Pendergast would make it 3-0 from Mike Bonin filling in for the maze and royal. Steve Albertelli, you know from the first game, filled in for Votta Properties and finally popped the cherry for the team. Before the period would end, Tommy G would get another one. Tommy should have had more but he went for the pretty shots, ringing the bell. Nick Miranda would help with another one early in the second and that would be all the scoring they would need. Votta would get another late in the third from Kevin Webster, but the comeback would not materialize. Manny's 5-2
The game of the night was the third. Final Touch and Vescera Law would get the West Coast nod. Early in the game Rob Edelman would start the scoring from Scott Reilly and Jay Cinq-Mars. Final Touch would tie the score with Richie Dias filling the hole with Rick Mercuri. (does that sound weird?) in any event tie. On to the second and late in the period, the wheels came off for Vescera Law as Mike Riendeau would jump start the old jalopy and get his team revved up. Peter Meegan and Bill Figuerido would get the helpers. Then Mercuri would get the next one 3 minutes later from Mark Kosinski. The next face off, the Touch took off with Dias getting another. Onto the third where Final Touch kept pushing. Brian Roman and Peter Meegan would continue to pump the score. Late in the third Ralph Espilat, would pop the last goal in to net, not enough as Final Touch shocks Vescera 6-2.
I had to fall to lose it all, in the end it doesn't even matter.
Hope everyone has a great week. Next week will pit the Manville Pizza Vs. Manny's Hockey shop in the early going. The Two LAW firms would go at each other in the middle game. Final Touch will see if they can continue the magic in the late game against Votta Properties.
After next week, it's anyones guess. Right Michael? Michael where is the scheddy?
Jimmy Meegan would like someone to grill next week. Its a great idea if anyone wants to bring a grill and can organize the food and sundries. Anyone? Hello? Have some after hockey food? Let the team captains know and put together this wonderful plan. Lets GRILL GRILL GRILL.
See you all next week.
