The Matty Chronicles: Week 2 : The Boo Is out there!

September 17, 2016

In the first game of week 2, it was Ralph Espilat and Eric Campbell Doing the heavy lifting. Ralph had a Hatty and an assist. Meanwhile, Campbell would get 2 goals and 2 assists to lead Roman Law to a winning record to start the season and unbeaten in 2 games. On the other side of the Red Line, Green Goddess needs some puck luck and their new jerseys to change their fate. Although the lost, they were in the game the whole time and never gave. Shane McCormick led the team with 2 goals. Derek Franco and Rich Dias would chip in with 2 assists each. Brian Roman and Mike Ferreira would put the other 2 goals. Mike set up from top of the circles, while Brian set up from right in front of Dave McDonald. I am exaggerating of course, but not by much. Great shot though.

In the second game of the night, Final Touch was hoping to repeat their efforts in week one, this time against MSCCC. The Car Care Center came off a 1 goal win last week. This week was a much different game. The action was all on Final Touch in the first gathering up 2 goals in the first, started by Anthony Lisi. In the second, MSCCC would keep it close getting to a 3-2 deficit but haunting the defense. The two goals by Captain Gary Ouilette and Center Brian Pendergast. In the end Jimmy Meegan and Captain Peter Meegan would get 3 points each leading Final Touch to a week 2 victory.

To cap off the evening, Manny's would make their debut for the winter season. They would make a big spash! Unfortunately I am not sure if I saw Jay Cinq-Mars, but if it was him in number 11, he had a hat trick and an assist to lead Manny's Hockey Shop. What I did see was deja vu from Nick Miranda. Nick came down on a breakaway and beat Mike Baro 5 hole, which was identical to both his shootout goals in the summer playoffs. I am not sure who scored for Vescera. BILL!!! Get your numbers into Peter!

I hope everyone had as much fun as I did Friday! See you all next week!
