Week 6 in the Books

October 26, 2018

Unlike Star Wars, lets start at the beginning.

Roman Law and Manville Pizza started the action off this week. It took some time, but Roman Law broke the egg midway through the first as Eric Campbell put one past Mac from Derek Franco. I don't quite know what happened in the second, but there was nothing on the score sheet. I was sort of watching the ball game. In any event, the goaltending must have been stellar. In the third the wheels came off for Manville Pizza as Pete Meegan scored a hat trick 2 from Shawn Smith on the assist. Derek Franco would chip in one as well. Manville didn't give up as Mark Kosinski set up Jarred Martin. Kosinski would set up Dan Dussault for their second. Both in the third but not enough. Roman would win 5-2.

Game 2: Tough game for Manny's and Green Goddess, as players were running into each other for pucks. Some might call it checking, but since this is a no checking league, it must be running into each other. Dan the Man Dussault would be a great late addition to Manny's as he got popped in the first goal. Dan would go by the entire Goddess team and get the game winner as a sub. In the second Mike Thomas would win the face off back to Derek Signoriello. Sig would shoot and Thomas would tip it passed Mike Jr. for the goal. In the third the dynamic duo would do it again. This time Derek would pass it to the Thomas above the circle and the puck would find five hole. Manny's continues to impress and wins 3-0. Shut out for Mike Baro is well deserved.

On to the 3rd and the Red Sox hanging on to a 1-1 tie in the 8th. Votta Properties went to work on Final Touch. Steven Albertelli would put the bite on the competition and score the first of many. (get it the bite...LOL we have fun don't we). Adam Bilbikian would chid one in on a "look what I found" goal. Ricky Votta was the set up man with a toss across shot that ended up on the side of the crease. Albertelli would get another to end the first 3-0. In the second, right out of the gate, Mike Strayer would get an unassisted goal. Final Touch was not laying down at 4-0. Rick Merucuri would put the biscuit in the basket from Barry Horton. It wouldnt be enough as Votta Properties would roll to a 9-4 win behind Steve Albertelli's 4 goals and 2 assists.

In the end, the Red Sox did not get the win. Not that we saw it. I went to bed at 230 and they were still going. I am told the lost 3-2.
Kinsler blew it on the base path and in the field. The new Buckner.

See you all next week.
