The League on the road. New Venue, Same Great Taste

March 11, 2016

In the hallow halls of Mount St. Charles Adelard Memorial Arena, NRIAHL darkened its doors and lit up the ice. This night started with Final Touch's return from their hiatus. In the big spot, Vescera Law was ready for action. In the beginning, Final Touch came out to a big 4-1 lead. Ralph Espillat got on the score sheet first to start the scoring. In the end of the second, and beginning of the third, Vescera exploded and tied and would lead with 2 goals by Rob Edelman. Brian Pendergast would save Final Touch's fate and tie the game in the end.

In the second game, with Senior now able to actually see how the timing and clock functions worked, things went a bit smoother. First step, the switch on the left, that turns it on. The teams got their 24 seconds back, which we know you paid for, you're welcome. MSCCC came out hot. 14 seconds into the game Mark Ferreira scored from the tops of the circles. Then 2 minutes later, Nate Bookbinder scored with the help of Barry Horton making it 2-0. At the end of the first Rich Dias would not be denied as he missed 2 earlier opportunities. Sadly, for MSCCC this would be the last time they would lead in the game. Dave "Ole Mac" MacDonald would settle in and make stop after stop. In the meantime he allowed Roman Law to chip away goal upon goal. The score ended with a 9-2 drubbing. Shaun Smith got a sombrero and 2 assists along with Eric Campbell getting 2 goals and 3 assists to lead the red to victory.

In the Final Game, Showtime Gary Myers would try his best to mess things up by getting a 10 and a minor. Jodi Pomchamski would use the opportunity to get Manville Palace Pizza on the board, with an unassisted shorty. Later in the period, Dan Dussault would feed Keith to make it a 2-0 game. What ever was said by Captain Eric Robichaud in between periods worked. 401 Consulting came out and scored 2 goals 5 and 6 minutes in. With the game tied, Keith would put the pill in the yawning goal mouth, after Dussault and Bobby Martin took shots on Jay Pires. 401's very own Brian Beck would not be denied and would get it right back making it 3-3. The hero of the game in the end, besides Mark Schaivone in net, saving everything in the wild third, was Scott Hawes. Hawes may be the key the Pizza's roll.

We appreciate the hospitality of Mount St. Charles Academy. Although, we hope to be home next week.

Again, the League is not free, ice is expensive and payments need to be made. If you have not paid for the winter yet, please make arrangements to do so asap. You will not be allowed to play in the playoffs.

As far as summer league, we will have 7 teams. If you are interested in getting on a roster, please get a down payment of $150. As soon as possible.
