Better late than Never! Tight games all Night long!
As the teams fill in the spots for the looming playoffs, a pause in the action as the Rhode Island hockey world has their own playoffs going on, hence the late start for the games.
In the first game, Derek Signoriello's formula is working. Last nights game made it 4 games unbeaten by Manny's. Signoriello would start the scoring for the gold and black. The goal would merely tie up the game as Roman Law brought in the ringer Mike Thomas who scored for the red, from Eric Campbell and Rich Dias. Richie was snake bit last night, which is highly unusual. As the gold were under siege in the second, the managed to pull out 2 goals. One goal by Nick Miranda and one by Derek Franco. Franco was a fan favorite as he went coast to coast and finished.
In the second game the excitement continued. 401 seemed to have the game under control, up 3-1 going into the third. Brian Beck would get 2 goals in the second. Final touch would not go away quietly. Mike Dussault would pull out some fantastic saves and shut down the third period, including an Glen Medeiros' decision to try his luck on his own goalie. When asked, Dussault said, "nah, I had that shit"! Tommy Gaboriault would lead the team and get the game winner with less than 10 seconds to go in the game.
In the final game of the night, just one goal would be scored and of course, it would be scored by Manville Pizza. Even more typically, it would be scored by Frank Notorianni assisted by Dan Dussault. Up and down the ice they went, with both goalies, Mark Schaivone and Mike Baro, shutting it down. Mark Schaivone would keep the Manville in the game and get a shut out. Vescera Law would keep their third spot and Manville Pizza would distance themselves from the field in first.
