Time Is Ticking away on the Season
So I was wrong last week when i said Manville Pizza had clinched. Turns out I forgot about the make up game.
This gave Manny's a chance to move up into first. In the first game, they went up against Final Touch to start the road. Manny's came out swinging. In the first Nick Miranda started the scoring, helping out by subbing for Manny's and then putting one in from Derek Antunes. That was early in the first. And that is it, It wouldn't be until late in the second when Antunes would figure out the rubiks cube that is Showtime. This time, from Derek Signoriello. As the world turns, so did Manny's, turning in another goal early in the third, again Derek Antunes would score this time from Gary Ouilette. It looks like a different Manny's out there.
In the second game, Green Goddess also wanted to start their run to the top. They also stared the scoring against rival Vescera Law. Kenny Beck from Eric Campbell and Anthony Lisi. Early in the second, Goddess would strike again. Jim Galvin would come from the blue line to score and stretch the lead. In the second, Vescera would cut the lead in half with a goal by a sub, number 2? from Rob Edleman. Early in the third Adam The Better Babikian scored two goals to put the Goddess ahead for good. That kids got some speed baby. He had help from, Rick Vasconcelos and Ant Lisi. Vescera would not give up the ghost that easily. They managed to notch another with Steve Garneau getting the nod from Paul Praderio. Too little, too late. Goddess moves up in the standings as well. Winning 4-2.
In the late game, the one everyone was waiting for, Manville Pizza against Roman Law. The Emperor on the shelf, John Manossos in the net. Beck out, Pincinse in. Dan Dussault out, not sure who they got for him. In the first Manville got up early with Tito's scoring first from Mike Bragan. Mike Bragan would keep the scoring going early in the second by himself. Grega Landry would score next from Tito's and Bragan. And then, Pincinse would score. And then Bragan from Landry and Tito's. Finally Roman Law would get on the board with Bill Papa Babikian, from Shane McCormick and Glen Mederios. Roman would get another one as well. Now we got a game. This time McCormick would get the goal with Shawn Smiths assist. Early in the third Eric Rondeau would make it closer for Roman. It would not be enough as in the third, Manville would put 2 more up Pincince and Bragan again. Titos helped on the second goal. Wow, tipsy Tito with several points, including a goal to put her team in First Place, this time for real.
