Top of the Standings Assert Themselves

November 7, 2015

Happy November. It was a wild night of hockey Friday at the ole barn. 3 teams scored a total of 21 goals and the other 3 scored a total of 4. Guess what teams won. In the first game of the night Vescera Law and Roman Law faced. Mike Baro, tweeked something early on in the game. Like a lion on a gimpy gazelle, Roman took advantage of the goalie. Eric Campbell would lead the team with a trick and 3 assists while Sean Smith would also get the chapeau storm. Rich Dias, would contribute with 2 goals and 3 assists. In the end, Dave McDonald would keep his team in the game, letting up only one goal.

In the second set of the nights program, Manny's Hockey Shop, riding a one game winning streak, would face the hot Manville Pizza team. Manny's would lead the game with Shannon Caverly feeding Derek Signoriello to end the first. In the second, the wheels came off on Manny's as Pizza spread the dough with 4 different goal scorers. Frank Notorianni, Dan Dussault and Keith Kraunellis would trade goal opportunities and capitalize seemingly every shift. 2 goals in the final period would cork the game. Next week Manny's has the bye. They will look to find a way to get some points on the board. As they lead the league and least goals for.

In the final game, Final Touch welcomed the return of Mike Dussault. The "Deuce" apparently was healthy and felt good as he only gave up 2 late goals in the third period. The Touch, would score two goals in the first both set up by Tommy Gaboriault. Tommy would feed the Meegan brothers, first Jimmy and then Captain Pete. Brian Pendergast would lead the team with 2 goals and an assist. On the MSCCC side, they continue to struggle and have 2 losses in as many games. They will look to rebound next week against the hot Roman Law.

Great action, great goaltending and a warm November night. Who could ask for more.

See you all at the rink next week.
