Uhhh I feel like I ran into the Mafia last night!
Apparently last weeks article, which started with a beloved cartoon characters theme song, did not go over well. With that said, it may now become the opening theme to every article. Ok, maybe not today.
Right to it then. Quick Dam and Edge Doctor tallied up the scores. A tie game after 1 with Quick Dam scoring early and late. Derek Franco started the scoring. Then a a couple by our winter friend Neil Yee. YEE YEE. For Edge Doctor, Kreg Labelle started the scoring and then Adam Babikian with a couple. Babickian with a very impressive game. He started the scoring in the second and got a hat trick for his effort. Brian McDonald rounded out the second with a couple of goals himself. Neil Yee would get one off the back of Juniors leg from behind the net. Pretty sneaky sis. Early in the third Mark Kosinski with the GWG. Is that a spoiler? Who cares. Quick Dam would get 2 more, another by Yee to get the hat plus one. Ralphy, my boo would get final say for Quick Dam. Labelle would sandwich the game with the final goal for Edge Doctor and the final score of 8-6.
Holy close one bat man, Final Touch and Vescera Laws game last night had the air of playoffs. Final Touch was able to eek out a goal 5 minutes in from My Man Ray's dad Brian Iannuccillo, Aimee Accinno and Gerry Fahey with the apples. A few shifts later, a fluky goal that left Mike Baro, almost getting his head taken off, by one of his own, bounced up and in. It would be Iggy Gozman from Steve Manning. The second period, although exciting, only yielded a penalty, but no goals. In the third, Nick Nardone would have a sneaky shot from the side of the cage. This would prove to work out coming off the defenders stick and going top shelf. So, much for Nick saying he wasn't going to shoot much. Bahahahaha. And that would do it, Mike Baro and Chris Santiago were stellar in net. Plus, the defense on both sides were unyielding. In the end two may enter one will leave. Well win in this case. Final Touch with the win 2-1.
Ok, mother effers, put some pinny's on when you play black on dark purple. That said, Manville Pizza would do the early damage with a couple of goals and some impressive goal tending by Mark Clarkin. Keith Kruanelis would get on the board along with Ryan Degnan. In the second, Votta Properties would get on their horse with a couple of goals. Their horse being Steve Lombardi. In the third a couple of number 8's. One was Eric Campbell for Votta. The next would be a sub for Manville. within a literally 30 seconds. I should mention, the 2 assists for Votta were by Ricky Votta himself. Lets get down to brass tacks. Andy Morrison would get the GWG for Votta as a fill in for the Properties. Votta would win 4-3.
Votta and Edge continue to high step to the finish line. Green Goddess on the hiatus last night is right behind with a game in hand. Leaving the rest of the field looking up. Although, Quick Dam and Final Touch are in the hunt. As everyone knows, we all make the playoffs. I would be especially worried about Vescera Law, but Manville could also surprise. So, from where I am sitting, this is anybody's race. I know the Babikians must have the Vegas line. Looks like if Quick Dam and Final Touch could get more goals, they would be in better shape, as their goals against are very low. Final Touch giving up 2.7 goals a game but only getting 3 goals a game. Same thing with Quick Dam, getting 2.5 goals a game and giving up just over 3. If defense wins championships, good odds should go to these teams. Again, it is anybody's chance. That said, Votta and Edge are tough to beat.
That is my analysis, I am sure Mike, I mean some people will be critical.
I hope you all enjoyed the games this week. Hope you all have a great week. Enjoy in any way you can. It's the Summer after all!
