Now down to business. Final Touch and Votta Properties got together for a playoff preview. Well, the upstart and prolific Votta Properties got off to a great start with 4 unanswered goals. Frank Nardone got the first goal, Eric Campbell with the follow up in in the first. Steve Lombardi and Big Handsome Ricky Votta was on the helpers. Lombardi got the next two, one a tip in from Nardone. Nardone also on the next helper with Votta. All that means very little when yours truly puts in the rocket that lights the fuse for a comeback. After that goal, my Boo made a tragic mistake by putting his hand over the puck in the crease causing, you guessed it, a Penalty Shoooooooooot! This article is already shorter than the time it took to get the puck in for the penalty shot. Rob Edleman slowed it down so much, I think time stopped. In the end, he beat the goalie making it a game 4-2. A late goal by Lombardi got the game to 5-2 at the end of the second. Joe Chatier, for Final Touch got on the board and here we freakin go. With only 3 minutes left in the game, Ben Mello got the Touch even closer, making it 5-4. Unfortunately for Final Touch, they couldn't muster up another. It would end with Votta on top.
In game two, much like game one, this was a nail biter. The first period started with Kreg Labelle getting the first one for the Edge Doctor. Mark Kosinski got the second goal for the Doctor. Vescera got one back with Jay Arruda on the blue line. And with the tying goal for Vescera, Ben Hefner making his mark. And then there is Kreg getting another to put the DR. in the lead once again. Late in the period, yep still period one. But wait, there's more. Hefner got on the board once again to close out the period. Early in the third, you guessed it one of the power houses on Edge started the scoring, this time it was Kosinski getting them started. And of course, Kreg Labelle got the next one. Come on boys spread the love, Puck Hogs. Wait, for it. In the third Kosinski would get another. Here is a math problem. If you have 6 goals and you are on the Edge Doctor, who gets the goals. Yep, Kosinski and Labelle with the pair of Hatty/s. Vescera did put in a good effort as they got 2 more to make it 5. Greg Landry had the last one. It wouldn't be enough. 5-4 Edge Doctor.
Late game folks. Haha Andy Morrison, Another late game. Manville Pizza got up 3-2 in the first, Ryan Degnan, Nate Patterson and Nick Miranda with the big Goals. Scott Reilly, said WHAAAAAT (Scooby Do voice) got 2 goals because he wanted to Show up Degnan! Yes you did (Samuel L. Jackson voice). In the second Chris Palmeiri and Kevin Schleicher got the goals. Schleicher with the Game winner. The third was probably cool, but i didn't watch and nothing really happened. Reilly got a penalty. All he needed was a fight to get the Gordy Howe. That's it though, Goddess wins 4-3.
I hope we all enjoyed last nights action. I certainly did. It is going to be a fun week. Rich Dias is at Maple Park with Loose Screws tonight. I am running sound for Hyperdrive at the Portuguese American club in Portsmouth. There is a feast supposedly. If you are in the area come on by. They are a great 80's, 90's cover band. Other than that, have a great week.
