Vendredi soir premiere partie
Sometimes a team just needs a coach. Captain Bill Vescera provided that spark in game 1. With Neil Foley just waiting for the phone to ring, he got the call. Vescera pulled all the right levers and pushed all the right buttons. Like Bruce Cassidy Bill got his team up for the game. Right out of the gate, The LAW would start the goal scoring Shane McCormick would get the game wound up from the pass of Jay Arruda. Green Goddess said no way and came storming back. They would get the equalizer from Sean Coffey aka the new guy from Chris Bolton. And then Mike Thomas, yes Mike Thomas he is back!, got right around the defense and scored. Green Goddess was not done as Glen Medeiros would start the pass in with Mike Thomas getting a piece and Jimmy Meegan Finishing. At the end of 1 Goddess was up 3-1 and not looking back. What Goddess did to Vescera in the first Vescera repeated in the second. Shane McCormick would get his second unassisted. 20 seconds later Dan Claire would get one from Paul Pradero. Robbie Edlemen would put his team ahead for the first time. In the third, right off the face off Goddess would tie the game. Jim Galvin would step up from the blue line to get the equalizer. A crucial time in the game and a roughing by Galvin would put the Law on the Power Play and they made it hurt. Edleman would score which would be the game winner. 5-4 Vescera Law
Here we go, Mike Dussault Junior in his Plaid Smoking Jacket, was ready for the game. Bully hmm yes Bully. Manville would strike first. It would be Mark Kosinski taking it to the net from Steve Owens and making it count. The Touch would come right back. Not sure who scored this one, i am sure i will here about it. However, Greg Landry got the first of his many points on the assist. Rich LaPlante would put Manville up again. And her we go, Final Touch would get the equalizer with under a minute left in the first. 2-2. In the second Final Touch would get it off the face off and score and it would be Greg Landry taking care of business and putting the Touch up. It wouldn't last. The next face shift MPP would put the puck in the net, Brian Duboc got the equalizer in front of his 2 fans. Like Deja Vu or punch for punch, Final Touch would pop the next one in, I believe it was Craig Pizzo from Landry this time. A couple of shifts later Manville carried by Brian Duboc from Tommy Gaboriault. This thing is getting out of control. Mark Kosinski would put this one ahead again for the Pizza, again from Owens. Then Duboc would finish his hat trick and extend the lead. Not done yet, Captain Richie "little stick" Dias would keep it going with under a minute left and getting his team closer. 20 seconds later, Kosinski finished his sombrero keeping it out of reach for the Touch. Owens would again set up his teammate. In the third Final Touch would chip back in with a goal by Eric Campbell. But it would Jay Cinq-Mars Delivering for the pizza and the final punch for the Final Touch. MPP beats FT 8-6
In the west coast game, The Juggernaut Votta Properties would face Manny's Hockey Shop to close out Vendredi soir. In the first couple of shifts Votta put in a couple with Steve Albertelli getting it from Adam Bilbikian. A flutter shot from Ricky Votta would put the VP up by 2 early on. Manny's would fight back with Peter Meegan getting 2 to tie it up from Derek Signoriello and Shannon Caverly. Allegedly. That is all Manny's could muster against Mike Baro. Votta would close out the first with another goal by Nate Arruda right off the faceoff from Ricky Votta. Or vice versa? I think it was Ricky from Nate. And then it was the Sean Forrant show. Sean would score twice both from Nate and Ricky. Adam Bilbikian would stab at thee with the last goal. The young Adam would scream through the neutral zone and attack the net for the score.
Tonight is going to be the D'angelos or Subway show. I hope the subs are all GRINDERS!!!.
