"You don't have enough talent to win on talent alone" Herb Brooks
The game of the week was Roman Law pitted against Manville Pizza. Pizza took a step back last week, but came in this week with a chip on their shoulders and got back to their winning ways. Scott Hawes and Steve Manning were the only Pizza players to score, as as the subs or grinders or sandwiches, were the order of the day. On the side of the Law was Joe Martin, Brian Roman and Rich Dias getting the brunt of the production. It would not be enough as Pizza rolled to the victory.
Final Touch continues to climb the standings with a 4 game unbeaten streak. Unfortunately our beloved Manny's Hockey shop continues to go the other way. Manny's started off strong and got 2 goals in the first. The second period was not as kind as Mike Dussault would be a brick wall between the pipes. The goal scoring for the Touch was spread out over the roster. However, Captain Peter Meegan would score the game winner, then another and then an assist to close out the game.
The final game of the night was a complete blowout. MSCCC takes itself out of the cellar by beating 401 Consultants 11-5. The captain himself, Gary Ouilette puts his mark on the game with a hat trick and 2 assists. Pete Sanchione also had a sombrero plus one and 2 assists. Since they were coming cheap, Nate Bookbinder had his own Chapeau. On the 401 side, Brian Beck put in a goal and 2 assists. Bobby Jordan had a goal and an assist as well.
The season is starting to separate the haves and the have nots. However, with this league you never know. You never know!
