Manville Pizza and Vescera Law in Finals

April 9, 2016

The Ahab Report

You can add Two more exceptional games to what may be remembered as the best playoff games of any season.

Manville Pizza's Keith Kreaunelis scored in sudden death overtime lifting his team over MSCCC in dramatic fashion.  Just moments after going on the power play, and off the faceoff deep in MSCCC's zone,  Frankie Notorianni slid the puck to Kreanelis who made a move and fired the puck into the net.

MSCCC took a 1-0 lead late in the first period on a spectacular block shot in His own zone and break away goal by Nathan Bookbinder.  This lead looked like it might hold up, until late in the second and early in the third, when Mr. Gary "Showtime" Myers scored twice reversing the lead.  Eventually, with just over Five minutes left in regulation, Pete Sanchione Tied the game, setting up the dramatic finish.

In the other Semi Final game, Vescera Law, behind great defense and absolutely spectacular goaltending, slipped past Final Touch, 1-0.  This game featured awesome saves at both ends of the ice, but ultimately, Mike Baro was saying, not tonight gentlemen, with his stunning performance.  The winning goal came early in The Third off a faceoff.  Bill Figuerido won the draw deep in Final Touch's zone, and Jason Arruda fired a lighning beam into the net.  After the goal, Bill Vescera had His Team go into shutdown mode, and with Baro in net, shut them down is exactly what they did.

The puck drops at 9:30 tonight where Manville Pizza will be hosting Vescera Law in The Finals.  Good Luck, and look for the next Ahab Report sometime after midnight tonight.
